Wife Swap (UK TV series)

Wife Swap is a British reality television show, which is produced by RDF Media. It was first broadcast on 1 January 2003 in the UK on Channel 4. Since 2004, Wife Swap is broadcast in the United States in ABC Network.

Wife Swap is broadcast in Germany under the title of wife-swapping and in Austria as Swap family.

Content

Normally, mothers are exchanged two strongly contrasting lifestyles or environment. The women try their roles well to master, but usually they do not have good success. Both families try to cope with the exchange mother. Every woman leaves her house and explains the role and duties that will take over the exchange mother in the family. In the first week of the swap, the women try to maintain the receivables. The following week the rules will be repealed with the families with whom they do not get along. At the end of the women's exchange, the women meet with their husbands for the first time and have spoken out over the past two weeks. Often develop from the discussions insults and acts of violence.

Parodies

In 2007, the series Kombat Opera Presents Richard Thomas included a musical parody of the American version of Wife Swap, entitled Spouse Change.
