Tuning method

Registered users can determine for each country or company the appropriate rating for their opinion. In this case, each user has only one vote to impede possible manipulation.

  • Government debt (% of GDP) - 50% weighting
  • Current account balance ( % of GDP) - 20 % weighting
  • Growth rate ( in% of GDP) - 10% weighting
  • Inflation rate - 10% weighting
  • Unemployment rate - 10% weighting

The calculated value is composed of multiples of a " scaling factor ", which is composed of the Human Development Index ( HDI) (60 % weighting) and the Corruption Perceptions Index ( 40 % weighting ), adapted.

Each criterion is calibrated by means of a respective relative minimum and a relative maximum of all countries. In addition, thresholds may be defined in order to avoid distortion values for all criteria. All calculated values are performed using a spreadsheet ( Spreadsheet ).
