Wiklino

Wiklino ( German Beckel ) is a village in the powiat Słupski ( Stolp ) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Beckel is located in Eastern Pomerania, about 12 kilometers northeast of the city of Slupsk and 99 kilometers west of the regional capital Gdańsk.

History

Wiklino is one of the oldest recorded villages of the district of Stolp. Duke Mestwin II left the small Angersdorf 1281 the monastery Belbuck the equipment of the newly founded Premonstratensian convent to Stolp. The accolade was called Viclino and in a copy Vidmo, 1331 and 1493 Bekene already Beckel. The village was later a fief of the old-established in Pomerania family of Bandemer, was once a farming village to Good Kuckow.

About 1784 Beckel had eight pawns, one Kossäten, a schoolmaster and a total of 18 fireplaces (households). 1925 there were 65 houses in the village. 1932 taught at the primary school stage of the village, a single teacher 68 school children.

Before 1945, Beckel belonged to the district of Stolp in Pomerania Region of Pomerania. On the 627 acre community area, there were six of Places:

1939 were counted in Beckel total of 83 households and 319 inhabitants.

Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was occupied on 8 March 1945 by the Red Army after the war and put under Polish administration. The residents were displaced between September 1946 and June 1947. 98 expelled from Beckel villagers were later identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 153 in East Germany.

Beckel was renamed Wiklino. The village has about 200 inhabitants.

Development of the population

Parish

The residents of Beckel were predominantly Protestant. In 1925 there were in the village only two inhabitants of Catholic confession, which corresponded to 0.6% of the population. The village was in the parish Freist and thus belonged to the church Stolp -Altstadt

Administrative structure

The place is a mayor's office in the Gmina Slupsk ( Stolp rural municipality ) in the powiat Słupski the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
