Wildkogel

The Wildkogelbahn is a 2,224 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in the Austrian state of Salzburg. The grass-covered mountain is easily accessible today heavily developed for tourism, on its slopes is a ski resort and south below the summit is a guest house. The Wildkogelbahn, due to its solitary position an impressive panorama described in the literature in the 19th century, among other things to GROßVENEDIGER.
Location
The mountain is located in the region of Upper Pinzgau, north of the east-west running Salzach Valley. Its northern flank falls down into Mühlbachtal, the Ostnordostgrat extends to the felts height (1921 m), the south side runs down the Salzach and the west ridge running down to Dürnbachtal. Nearest places are Neukirchen and Bramberg in about three and a half kilometers in a straight line.
Touristic development
An extensive network of hiking trails and numerous ski lifts connect the Wildkogelbahn. As a base can serve the south situated on 2005 meters altitude below the Wildkogel built in 1898 Wildkogelhaus.
