Wilfrid Edward Francis Jackson

Sir Wilfrid Edward Francis Jackson ( * 1883, † 1971) was a British civil servant in colonies.

Political offices

Jackson was on August 30, 1930 to June 7, 1937 Governor of Mauritius. Knighted in 1931 for Sir. During his tenure, the Constitution was amended in 1933 and Dr. Maurice Curé created the Labour Party in February 1936, the first political party. For longer absences official he was represented on several occasions by Colonial Secretary Edward Walter Evans ( 1890-1985 ). He was subsequently appointed on 19 November 1937 to November 7, 1941 Governor of British Guiana, and finally on June 19, 1941 to April 28, 1945 by Tanganyika.
