Wilhelm Heinrich von Grolman

Wilhelm Heinrich von Grolman (* February 28, 1781 in Berlin, † January 1, 1856 ) was a Prussian jurist, Supreme Court President and Prussian Privy Council.

Life

Wilhelm Heinrich von Grolman, brother of Karl Wilhelm Georg, studied in Göttingen and Halle 's Rights, 1801 Auskultator the Municipal Court in Berlin, 1802 clerk at the District Court there, 1804 Assessor at the former government in Marienwerderstraße, then 1806 Regierungsrat, 1808 Kammergerichtsrat in Berlin and 1810 also member of the Kurmark pupils College.

At the outbreak of war in 1813 he became Major and commander of a Kurmark Landwehr battalion, fought with the same in the battle of Hagelberg and participated in the blockade of Magdeburg and Wesel active part.

In July 1814, he returned to his judgeship back, but resumed again in 1815 the command of his Landwehr battalion and distinguished himself at Fleurus and Wavre from glorious, so that he was awarded the Iron Cross first class.

Grolman was married in first marriage with Henriette home, a daughter of the Berlin physician and honorary citizen Ernst Ludwig Heim. Among their descendants heard General Helmuth von Grolman, the first military officer of the German Bundestag.
