Wilhelm Streitberg

Wilhelm August armed Berg ( born February 23, 1856 in Rudesheim am Rhein, † August 19 1925 in Leipzig ) was an Indo-Europeanist who specialized in Germanic languages, in particular the Gothic.

Life

Armed Berg studied at the University of Leipzig in Indo-European known professors such as Karl Brugmann and Ernst Windisch. Together with Brugmann he later founded the magazine " Indo-European research ."

In 1909 he was appointed a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences.

He was with Gertrude Liesken, a subsidiary of Indo-Europeanists August Leskien married.
