Wilhelm Trendelenburg

Ernst Theodor Wilhelm Trendelenburg (* July 16, 1877 in Rostock, † March 16, 1946 in Tübingen ) was a German physiologist.

William was a son of the surgeon Friedrich Trendelenburg and brother of the lawyer Ernst Trendelenburg and the pharmacologist Paul Trendelenburg. He became Professor in 1909 in Freiburg im Breisgau, 1911 in Innsbruck, 1916 in Giessen, 1917 in Tübingen and in 1922 in Berlin. Trendelenburg wrote extensive scientific contributions to the nervous and sensory physiology, especially the physiology of color vision.
