Will H. Bradley

William H. Bradley (* July 10, 1868 in Boston, † January 25, 1962 in La Mesa ( California)) was an American artist and illustrator.

Bradley was the son of a draftsman; From 1881 he served an apprenticeship in a printing house in northern Michigan. From 1885 he worked in various print shops in Chicago. Since the early 1890s, Bradley worked as a draftsman and illustrator and soon became a significant artist of the American poster.

Following the publication of an article about Bradley and his posters in the STUDIO 1895 Bradley was invited to the first exhibition in the " Salon de l'Art Nouveau " by Siegfried Bing. In 1895 he opened his own print shop in Springfield (Mass. ). During these years he created his best and most characteristic work in the Art Nouveau, whose most famous representative he was for America. During the first quarter of the 20th century Bradley was the highest paid artists in the United States. In his designs, the Bradley font goes back.
