Willem Rooseboom

Willem Rooseboom ( born March 9, 1843 in Amsterdam, † March 6, 1920 in The Hague) was an influential Dutch military, he was also Governor-General of Dutch East Indies.

He was an officer with the pioneers, at the General Staff ( Dutch: Generale Staf ) and later taught as a lecturer at a military school. He was also a journalist in the field of defense. Under the pseudonym " Henri Raloff " he published the novels.

In 1899 he was appointed Minister of Cremer Governor-General of Dutch East Indies. Rooseboom had the unfortunate task of expanding the defenses of the colony, but this failed. He wanted to raise the level of prosperity of the population, even here Rooseboom only met with limited success. His adjutant was born on May 1, 1900 Han de Booy, of Boissevain Hilda married on 16 May 1897.

From 1884 to 1894 he was a member as a representative of the Liberal Unie of the Second Chamber of the States General.
