Willi Wigold

Willi Wigold ( born December 10, 1909 in Dusseldorf, † November 28, 1944 ) was a German football player.

The inside right grew up in Gerresheim, where he played for the lawn sport from 1908 Gerresheim. In 1930, he moved at the age of 21 years to Fortuna Dusseldorf. He played there in the thirties with Paul Janes, Jacob Bender, Stanislaus Kobierski and Ernst Albrecht and has been with the team on June 11, 1933 with a 3-0 win against FC Schalke 04 in Cologne German football champions.

With the German national team, although he managed to qualify for the World Cup in Italy in 1934, but was not nominated for the World Cup. Overall, he completed four matches under coach Otto Reich mink, scoring three goals. He had his first operation on December 4, 1932 at 0:2 against the Netherlands. In his second outing on December 22, 1933 at 8:1 against Belgium, he scored his first two goals in the 47th and 56th minute. The last time he played for Germany on March 11, 1934 at 9:1 in Luxembourg where he scored his last goal.

Wigold came as a Lance Corporal during World War II on Ilmensee in Russia died.
