William Cail

William Henry Cail ( born February 28, 1849 in Gateshead, † November 25, 1925 in Newcastle upon Tyne ) was an English rugby pioneer.

1865 led William Cail in Stuttgart and Bad Cannstatt the Rugby game. This was the emergence of a non- gaming community that led to the official establishment of the Cannstatt football clubs and eventually to the formation of the predecessor clubs VfB Stuttgart later. 1892 William Cail was elected president of the Rugby Football Union. After his tenure as president, he was Treasurer of the Association until 1924. 1910 was William Cail coach of the British and Irish Lions on their tour to South Africa.
