William Douglas, 10th Earl of Angus

William Douglas, 10th Earl of Angus ( * 1552, † March 3, 1611 in Paris) was a Scottish nobleman.

William was a son of William Douglas, 9th Earl of Angus, and his wife Egidia Graham. He succeeded his father in 1591 as Earl of Angus.

1592 the Earl was involved in the conspiracy "Spanish Blanks ", in which the Catholic peers were trying to forcibly re-catholicize with the help of the Spanish King Philip II of Scotland. This William moved all of his titles and goods forfeited and finally retired in 1608 to the continent back.

He married in 1585 Elizabeth, daughter of Laurence Oliphant, 4th Lord Oliphant, with whom he had the following children:
