William Duncan Silkworth

William Duncan Silkworth, (* 1873, † 1951) was a medical doctor and specialist in the field of alcoholism in the United States. He was director of Towns Hospital in New York City in the 1930s.

Silkworth had great influence on Bill Wilson, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. Through him, Wilson realized that alcoholism is a disease and not a moral weakness.
