William Fletcher Barrett

William Fletcher Barrett ( born February 10, 1844 in Kingston, Jamaica, † May 26 1925 in London) was an English physicist.

He was born in Jamaica because his father William Garland Barrett was an amateur naturalist there. 1848, the family returned to England.

Discovering STALLOY, a silicon -iron alloy, which is used in electrical engineering. He has also conducted research on the divining rod. It also highlighted by gas flames after the existence of sound waves that can not be registered by the human ear. Barrett was a professor of physics at the University of Dublin.
