William J. Murphy (Labour politician)

William J. Murphy ( born May 17, 1928) is an Irish politician (Irish Labour Party ).

Murphy was elected on June 15, 1949 in the constituency of West Cork as part of a special election to fill the vacant seat of his newly deceased party colleague Timothy J. Murphy in the 13th Dáil Éireann. It is therefore to this day the youngest person ever elected to the Dáil. In the elections in 1951 for the 14th Dáil Éireann Murphy no longer went to.
