William Kwong Yu Yeung

William Kwong Yu Yeung (* in Hong Kong ) is a Canadian astronomer and asteroid discoverer of Chinese descent.

He discovered in the period from 1999 to 2008 in 1864 asteroids, making it one of the most efficient asteroid hunters. He also discovered the periodic comet 172P/Yeung. On his account, the discovery of the object J002E3, which was first thought to be an asteroid until it was identified as part of the Saturn V rocket that took Apollo 12 on the way to the moon rises.

He began his work on Rockfinder Observatory ( IAU code 652 ) in Calgary, Alberta, and then moved to the Desert Beaver Observatory ( IAU code 919) in Arizona and the Desert Eagle Observatory (IAU code 333).
