William Turner (envoy)

William Turner ( * 1792, † January 10, 1867 in Leamington Spa) was a British diplomat.

Turner came already with 18 years in the diplomatic service and was used in 1811 at the British Embassy in Constantinople Opel. The Ambassador Robert Liston gave him an opportunity to extensive travels throughout the Middle East. 1820 Turner published a travelogue under the title Journal of a Tour in the Levant.

In 1824 he returned as Secretary of the Embassy to Constantinople Opel. From 1829 to 1838 he served as Associate Minister (English Envoy Extraordinary ) in Colombia.
