William W. Irwin

William Wallace Irwin (* 1803 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, † September 15, 1856 ) was an American politician.

Irwin studied law and admitted to the legal profession in 1828. He then practiced in Pittsburgh. 1840 to 1841 he was mayor of the city. Irwin was elected to the United States Whig Party in the 27th Congress and represented the state of Pennsylvania there March 4, 1841 to March 3, 1843 U.S. House of Representatives. After his career in the U.S. House of Representatives, he was on March 3, 1843 to June 12, 1847 to the charge d'affaires in Denmark. He died in 1856 in Pittsburgh and was buried in the Allegheny Cemetery.
