Willigis hunter thinking

After hunters religions are directed to an " ultimate reality ", but only understanding aids, maps, models become obsolete if they are not always revived from the experience here. He believes - as the Catholic Church - all religions as important and necessary achievements, but complains that religions schwertun to overcome their rigidity in order to give the people answer to the old questions of humanity quite new questions can, and that the mystical prayer is not be taught. He believes that evolution new levels of consciousness will bring forth. He also says that God's experience is experience of love. Although the saying all religions; but as long as this remains a commandment, it produced no effect, as the history of religions and their aberrations showed. Every religion should be transcended to Sophia perennis, the eternal wisdom, which will now lived only a minority that each religion be known but one day as the true goal. Mysticism will always be alive when the spiritual experiences of the founders of religion solidified in objective, legal and dogmatic forms. If the law of life and the dogma of the personal experience begin to dominate, incur mystical movements that were looking for a direct contact with God. Therefore, the theistic religions with mysticism have always done heavy.

" Every religion has sacred scriptures, rituals and commandments. They are intended to help people to find what is referred to as God, divinity, nature nature, Sunyata, etc.. Writings and rituals can always suggest only to God. [ ... ] If you want to experience God, must exceed books, rituals and all mental comprehension. That is why all religions studied pathways that lead to the experience of ultimate reality. In Buddhism, Zen, Vipassana and Tibetan paths develop. With the Hindus, the various forms of yoga originated. In Islam, the Kabbalah and Christianity contemplation unfolded Sufism, Judaism. There are spiritual paths that will lead its in the experience of what the Scriptures teach and recommendations of the various religions. [ ... ] You want to lead in the experience of Urwirklichkeit. [ ... ] The transcendental realms of experience are provided in talent of our human existence, even if many people know nothing about it. "

Hunter's viewpoints are discussed, sometimes controversial. For a dissolution of the self in God, and against the view, according to which was only God and all the difference is radically negated is argued that the Christian experience of God by pointing to a personales you. Unrelated neither love nor freedom was possible. God should therefore not be thought of as a pure unity, but must as a unity in diversity and therefore Trinitarian.

Conflict with the Roman Catholic Church

Under the leadership of then- Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger in 2001 threw the CDF prior to subordinate truths of faith of personal experience and gave him a speech, writing and performance ban. In January 2002, he therefore forbade the Episcopal Ordinariate in Würzburg the exercise of any public activity. The other hand, hunters claimed ancient truths of faith for the present to re- interpret. As a result, he asked to be exklaustriert from the Abbey Muensterschwarzach; while it was a sort of leave of absence from the monastery. He is still a member of his monastic community. Their abbot and community stood by him.
