Willy Alberti

Willy Alberti ( born October 14, 1926 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, † February 18, 1985 ) was a Dutch singer.

The tenor sang the " song of life " as well as popular, sentimental songs from this Amsterdam's old quarter " Jordaan ", but also Italian songs in the style of " Neapolitan tenor ". Especially in the 1960s, he had many hits, together with his daughter Willeke. From about 1970, his career success declined. He died in 1985 of liver cancer.

Johnny Jordaan was a cousin of Willy Alberti. Both worked together occasionally. Willy Alberti has contributed significantly to the success of André Hazes, which is considered more or less as his successor.
