Willy Schneider
Willy Schneider ( born September 5, 1905 in Cologne, † 12 January 1989 ) was a German folk and pop singer. Among his most successful songs include bulk concerns in a glass of wine and one would have to be 20 again.
Life
Willy Schneider was the son of Joseph and Bertha Schneider, born in Cologne -Ehrenfeld. After attending the elementary and middle school, he went from 1921 in his parents' butcher shop in the teaching. When his father died in 1927, led the son of the meat processing plant on. From 1928 he attended the Practical Fleischer School Cologne, where he passed the Diploma Examination for producing fine meat and sausages with distinction on 28 February 1929.
His first experience as a singer he was in a church choir. His vocal training as a baritone, he was at the Cologne cantors Hermann Fleischmann and Clemens Glettenberg. He was particularly effective with more thoughtful carnival songs. In 1947, he took the occasion of the 700 -year-old Domjubiläums the mountain from August Schnorr (* 1896, † 1973) composed title Am Dom zo Koelle, Koelle at zo Rhing. On November 18, 1947 Schneider married a native of Cologne Hanny Osslender (* 1915, † 1996). He was able to resume his successful broadcasting career at NWDR in Cologne yet the end of 1947. His great popularity was also based on numerous television appearances, including he was a regular guest in the HR mission Zum Blauen Bock. He was nicknamed the singer of the Rhine and wine. In 1960 he became the first singer in Germany for 6 million sold "Songs from the Rhine " a gold record. Only at the age of 82 years he took on his last title The Gift of Years (1988 ), a tribute to his wife.
Overall, he recorded about 800 records that were sold about 18 million copies worldwide.
Willy Schneider also appeared in numerous movies, so in between yesterday and tomorrow ( Premiere on December 11, 1947), the evening, when the heather Dreams (19 December 1952) or Southern Nights (8 September 1953). In the film cherries in the neighbor's garden (1956 ), he can be heard with the song Anka Marianka.
