Wilma Landkroon
Wilma Landskroon ( born April 28, 1957 in Enschede, Netherlands) is a Dutch pop singer and former child star.
Life
Beginnings as a child star
Wilma Landskroon was a 11 -year-old Wilma with her song Heintje, build a castle for me abruptly in Germany and the Benelux countries known. The song was produced by the Dutch singer and music manager Gert Timmerman response to Heintjes success Shit I'll build you a castle. The singer reached with this item higher chart positions than their counterparts Heintje. Soon Klaus Lorenzen became producer of the young singer. Other hits such as magic fairy ( Dutch: Toverfee ) placed in 1969 on the charts.
Wilma Landskroon began recording their songs not only in German and Dutch, but also in other languages such as English or even Japanese and achieved drew international successes, including the title lavender blue ( Dutch: 'n SuikerSpin ). Other successful titles of Wilma were 1969 and 1970, among others, a wooden shoe sailing ( Een klomp met een zeiltje ) Do not cry ( niet Huil toch than ever away moet gaan ) the bye and 80 red roses (80 rode rozen ).
Also, in some German films worked with Wilma Landskroon and sang some of her hits. She played for example in 1969 on the side of Roy Black and Helga Anders in the film Our doctor is the best and in the same year with Uschi Glas in film class wedges.
Beginning of the 1970s, then took the well-known Dutch composer Pierre Kartner the young singer under his wing. In duet with Vader Abraham had with Zou het erg zijn a big hit, the No. 1 was in the Dutch charts. This success, however, was almost exclusively confined to the Netherlands.
Failures and comebacks
Wilma country Kroons short career leaned soon coming to an end. My attempt to build the image of the child stars in 1973 together with the Dutch band De Makkers a repertoire away failed. She experienced a social decline, impoverished quickly and came as a result of property crime more than once in contact with the police. In a house fire in 1994, in connection with which their first insurance fraud was accused (but the allegations proved to be unfounded ), burned all their gold records and other honors from her successful time. Various other comeback attempts failed.
In the 90s and beginning of the first decade of the 21st century a number of best -of CDs have been published in the Netherlands. Klaus Lorenzen produced a CD with Wilma's successful songs under the title Wilma - Dubbelgoud = Dubbelgoed.
Also, a CD was released under the title Wilma - Toen en Nu, at the Wilma in addition to some of their former hits sings a number of newly produced item. The CD was only a moderate success. In the title Gouden Platen - full Salen, Wilma Landskroon looks wistfully back at her long time as a child star. In a television interview in the Netherlands in 2005 she practiced clear criticism of the circumstances, as it was marketed as a child and teenager.
2009 Wilma Landskroon chose a unique comeback after almost forty years, and took with singer Sylvia Corpiér a duet with the title of the rivet nobody on, the FM Top 25 reaching # 1 in late August in the Netherlands.
Wilma Landskroon is the sister of composers, song writer and singer Henny Thijssen and singer Reiny Landskroon.
