Wilmer Velásquez

Wilmer Raynel Neal Velásquez ( born April 28, 1972 in San Pedro Sula ) is a Honduran football player.

Velásquez played intermittently since 1991, when Honduran giants Club Deportivo Olimpia. With 149 goals he's behind the Brazilian Denilson Costa the second most successful shooter of the Honduran league.

He also played in the Mexican first division club CF Atlas, but where he could not prevail, and again returned to Olimpia.

Velásquez is a mainstay of the Honduran national football team due to his eye for goal. He scored a Nations Cup 2005 Copa Centroamericana six goals and was the most successful scorer of the tournament, in which Honduras won second place. At the next CONCACAF Gold Cup 2005 Velásquez met three times and was with four other players also scorer of the tournament. In addition, he was appointed to the All- Star team.
