Wincenty Rzymowski

Wincenty Rzymowski ( born July 19, 1883 in Mława, † April 30, 1950 in Warsaw) was a Polish politician and writer. He was Polish foreign minister in the Provisional Government of National Unity of May 2, 1945 to February 5, 1947.

Life

In Poland in the interwar period he was a member of the Democratic Party. Rzymowski was Foreign Minister in the Provisional Government of National Unity of May 2, 1945 to February 5, 1947. He represented Poland during the signing of the UN Charter and as foreign minister during the Potsdam Conference. From 1947 until his death he was Minister without portfolio of the Polish Government. His successor as foreign minister was Zygmunt Modzelewski.

Rzymowski was a journalist and writer. In a controversy surrounding accusations of plagiarism, he was forced to resign his membership in the Polish Academy of Literature.
