Winfried Berkemeier

Winfried Berke Meier ( born January 22, 1953 in Gronau (Westfalen ) ) is a former German football player.

The striker and midfielder joined in 1973 as a twenty -year-old from the SG Düren 99 1 FC Cologne. After he had come there in two years only four times in the 1st Bundesliga for use, he left the FC and switched to Tennis Borussia Berlin, for which he came on duty 104 games in three years. 1978 brought the first FC Nuremberg Berke Meier in his Bundesliga team. There he was at first team regular and played 32 of 34 possible games. From the beginning of the season 1979/80 he went to for FC Schalke 04, for whom he played until 1981. After his time in the Ruhr area, he moved to Switzerland to BSC Young Boys.

After he finished his active career, Berke Meier took over the position of the coach with some Swiss clubs.
