Career
Player
From youth to play shepherd to 1968 at TuS Mayen. From 1968 to 1985 he played for Borussia Moenchengladbach, Kickers Offenbach and Karlsruher SC in the Bundesliga.

The main reason the termination of qualifying for the Europa League was in his first competitive games with Baku, which was only done because Shepherd had used in the first leg to just to Baku exchanged Joël Epalle, which was not reported by the club in time. So Baku won, although both games, but still ultimately different, because the first leg was scored 0-3 and the second leg went out only 2:1. Shepherd later said that it was consequently been difficult to motivate his players yet.
From June 2011, Shepherd was the coach of the national football team in Thailand. His contract with the Association was disbanded in June 2013 by mutual agreement. He then moved immediately within the country to Muangthong United, who he succeeded as the new coach of the Jamaican national team in July 2013.
Personal
Shepherd is married, has two children and lives with his family for more than 25 years in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe. 2004 Shepherd was elected with the most votes in the council Ettlinger.
