Wings of Storm

Krila Oluje (Croatian: Wings of the storm ) is the official name of an aerobatic team of the Croatian Air Force. The pilots are Air Force flight instructor in the majority.

The main objective of the team is to demonstrate the efficiency, discipline, and teamwork of the Air Force at home and abroad.

History

The Krila Oluje team had the occasion of the celebrations for the anniversary of the military operation Oluja on 5 August 2005 in Knin his first public appearance. However, the first unofficial performance took place in the context of European sailing championships in Zadar on 23 June 2004.

Since its inception, the squadron has been flying six Pilatus PC -9 in the standard version. Since no specific instruments for aerobatics are present, the flying skills of the pilots is the only determining factor. The flight program lasts about 20 minutes and will be demonstrated at altitudes between 50 and 1000 m.

Location

The Krila Oluje team as part of the flyer unit 93 for example, at the airport in Zadar Zemunik Donji stationed near Zadar. Therefore, the team trained frequently in the vicinity of Zadar.
