Winnie Holzman

Winnie Holzman (born 1954 in New York City ) is an American screenwriter, television producer and actress. She became known as a writer and producer of the American television series Welcome to life. For the script for the pilot episode of this series, she was nominated for an Emmy in 1995.

Life

Holzman studied English and creative writing at Princeton University. She finished her studies at New York University in 1984 with a Master in Musical Theatre Writing. Your teacher at New York University have included Stephen Sondheim, Harold Prince, Arthur Laurents, Betty Comden, Adolph Green and Leonard Bernstein.

In 2003, Winnie Holzman wrote the script for the Broadway musical Wicked - The Witches of Oz by Stephen Schwartz. For this, she won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Book of a Musical and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Author of a Musical.

As Actress Holzman plays small roles in various television series. Moreover, it has often cameo appearances in their own productions.

Winnie Holzman is married to actor Paul Dooley, with whom she has a daughter.
