WinPT

WinPT (abbr. for Windows Privacy Tray ) is a collection of small utilities that are grouped under a graphical frontend for Windows, which simplifies the work with GnuPG and thus the encryption of files, texts and emails. GnuPG is compatible with the conventional PGP process. This is the WinPT for Windows, which is KGpg for KDE and GNOME Seahorse.

WinPT is licensed under the GNU GPL. The software is available in different variations, in the complete installation of GnuPG is already included.

Under the graphical user interface of the user may WinPT including:

  • Create Assist Based Key
  • Download Foreign Key from a Key Server or directly import
  • Manage all key
  • Encrypt and decrypt data symmetric or asymmetric
  • Electronic check signing and foreign signatures

The further development and active support for WinPT was temporarily set to 1 November 2009. The reasons were "lack of resources " specified. On January 20, 2012, however, announced that the development would be resumed. Since then, several beta versions of version 1.5 were released.
