Geographical location
Wirges is located in a high basin of the anterior Westerwald between the mountains Koeppel ( 540.2 m) in the southwest, Malberg (422 m) in the northeast and the Wirgeser " mountain" Steimel ( 333.7 m) in the north. Local key feature is the " Westerwald Dom", the Catholic parish church of St. Boniface. 1885, the foundation stone for the neo-Gothic church was laid. 1887 was followed by the consecration by the Bishop of Limburg.
