Witold Gintowt-Dziewałtowski

Witold Józef Gintowt - Dziewałtowski ( born January 11, 1949 in Drewnica ) is a Polish politician, a local politician and since 1997 member of the Sejm in the III. , IV, V and VI. Legislature.

From 1968 to 1990 he was an active member of the Polska Zjednoczona partia Robotnicza (Polish United Workers' Party - PZPR ). From 1981 to 1986 he was first secretary of the city committee of the PZPR in Elblag. From 1966 to 1988 he was a member of the Association of Polish Rural Youth and the Federation of Socialist Youth of Poland.

In the years 1966 to 1967 he worked in the agricultural production community Kopanów II From 1967 to 1970 he was an accountant in the LPG Jesionna. In the years 1970 to 1974, he was a financial inspector in the LPG inspection in Elblag and then he was until 1975 chairman of the county planning commission in the county office of Nowy Dwór Gdański.

In 1976, he earned a degree at the Faculty of Organization and Management at the University of Gdansk.

From 1975 to 1981 he was employed as a senior Wojwodschaftsinspektor in Wojwodschaftsamt in Elblag. From 1986 to 1990 he was chairman of the housing cooperative management " Nad Jarem " in Elblag and then to 1994, chairman of the housing cooperative management " Zakrzewo ". From 1994 to 1998 he fulfilled the function of the Mayor of Elbląg.

From 1990 to 1999 he was a functionary in the Party Socjaldemokracja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ( Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland - SdRP ). In 1999, he joined the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD) in and sat in the State Executive Committee of the party.

Since 1997 he has been a Member of the Sejm. He was a member of the Sejm Commission for Local Self- Government and Regional Policy in the III. , IV and V. legislature, in the years 1997 to 2005 he was Deputy Chairman of this Commission. From 10 July to 4 November 2007, and again since November 30, 2007 he is a member of the Council of Public Service.

In the 2007 parliamentary elections, he won from the list of Lewica i Demokraci ( Left and Democrats - LiD ) for the constituency with 9,875 votes Elbląg for the fourth time elected to the Sejm. In the VI. Election period, he is Vice Chairman of the Sejm Commission for Local Self-Government and the member's deputies fishing characteristics.

On 22 April 2008, he joined the Group Lewica.
