Władysław Stasiak

Władysław Stasiak ( born March 15, 1966 in Breslau, † 10 April 2010 Smolensk, Russia) was a Polish government official, Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration in the cabinet of Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of the National Security Bureau and the President 's office.

Life

Stasiak finished his studies in 1989 at the Faculty of History at the University of Breslau, and in 1993 at the National School of Public Administration ( Krajowa SzkoĹ Administracji Publicznej ) in Warsaw.

From 1993 to 2002, Stasiak worked in the " Supreme Chamber of Control " ( Najwyższa Izba Kontroli ), the Supreme Court in Poland, including as deputy head of department in the area of national defense and homeland security. In the years 2002 to 2005 he was Deputy Mayor of Warsaw Lech Kaczyński under, in charge of security, crisis management and the population register.

From 2005 to 2006 Stasiak was for half a year as a deputy minister in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration ( Ministerstwo Spraw Wewnętrznych i Administracji ) responsible for the supervision of the police, border protection and law enforcement agency of the Polish Biuro Ochrony Rządu. From 2006 to 2007 he headed the President assumed office of National Security ( Biuro Bezpieczeństwa Narodowego, short BBN ) for one year.

From 8 August 2007 to 16 November 2007 Stasiak took over for just over three months, the Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration in the cabinet of Jarosław Kaczyński. From November 2007 to January 2009, he led a second time the BBN. Then Stasiak was initially for half a year deputy head of the President of the Republic ( Kancelaria Prezydenta RP), until he eventually became head of the President of the Republic on July 27, 2009.

On April 10, 2010 Władysław Stasiak belonged to a Polish delegation headed by President Lech Kaczyński, who was to travel on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the Katyn massacre to the memorial to Russia. However, in a plane crash of the delegation near the military airfield Smolensk - North he came together with other high-ranking representatives of Poland died.

Posthumously awarded Stasiak on 16 April 2010 the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta ( Krzyż Komandorski Orderu Odrodzenia Polski ).
