Wojciech Rudy

Wojciech Władysław Rudy ( born October 24, 1952 in Katowice, Poland ) is a former Polish football player, coach, umpire and functionary. In addition, he worked as a school principal and teacher in Sosnowiec.

Wojciech Rudy began his career as a goalkeeper for Gwardia Katowice. Only when Zagłębie Sosnowiec, where he played from 1970 to 1983, he was converted into a defender.

Wojciech Rudy played 40 times for the Polish national team and scored a goal. Both in the 1976 Olympic Games as well as the Football World Cup 1978 squad was Rudy the Polish team.

After his playing career he was a soccer player long -time national and international referees. From 2000 to 2007 he was Director of the Primary School No 23 in Sosnowiec, while sporting director Zagłębie Sosnowiec. In April 2007 he was arrested for suspicion of corruption in Polish football and released two days later on bail of 20,000 zloty again.
