Wolfgang Kubin

Wolfgang Kubin ( born December 17, 1945 in Celle ) is a German poet, essayist, sinologist, academics and literary translator. He is one of the most important Sinologist in Germany.

Study and teaching

Wolfgang Kubin laid in 1966 his Abitur at the Gymnasium Dionysianum in Rheine. Awards

Despite his publicly expressed criticism of China Kubin was awarded the 2007 State Prize of the Republic of China and the Pamir International Poetry Price, who is considered to be most lucrative literary prize in the Chinese -speaking world. 2013 saw him the German Academy for Language and Literature at the Johann Heinrich Voss Award for translation.
