Wolfgang Siemens

Wolfgang Siemens ( born February 4, 1945 in Thuringia ) is a German painter.

Life

1961 Siemens began studying painting at the Cologne factory schools in Vordemberge and later with Karl Marx with an appointment as master student of Vordemberge.

1970 made ​​him a group exhibition at the Cologne Josef- Haubrich - Kunsthalle known to a wider audience. From 1969 to 1979 Siemens also taught as an art teacher at a high school in Cologne. From 1979 he turned exclusively to painting. In 1980 he had a solo exhibition in New York. Until 1984 he lived with short interruptions in Paris, Southern France and Morocco.

The Federal Association of Artists taught him in 1984 a retrospective exhibition. 1986 Siemens came in a personal and artistic crisis. The change in the environment and the death of his father made ​​him doubt the meaning of the painting and the arts. He destroyed all the while painting in his possession.

Since 1990, Siemens painting turned again. Arise since then his paintings and gouaches slowly and in spurts. He lives in Pulheim.
