Wolfgang Zuckermann

Wolfgang Zuckermann ( born October 11, 1922 in Berlin ) is an instrument maker with a focus on historical keyboard instruments, writer, and environmental and social activist.

Life

He fled with his parents because of the Jewish faith in 1938 in the United States. After training as a child psychologist of amateur musicians became one of the first harpsichord maker in the United States. In the late 1950s he created a self-made harpsichord package, known as the Model T - harpsichord, which was sold numerous and worldwide. In 1969 he left for the U.S. policy in Vietnam New York, sold the company, settled in England as a musician and music teacher down. There, he became aware of the many former horse stables, which he described together with Barbara Rose in the book The Mews of London and cataloged.

In 1987 he became an environmental activist employees Ecoplan, a non-profit group based in Paris. He is the author and editor of the New Mobility Agenda.
