World Innovation Summit for Education

The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE ) is a taking place annually Education Summit, which is organized by Qatar Foundation in Qatar. The aim is to promote innovative educational and scientific projects. Since its founding in 2009, more than 1,000 experts from different countries meet annually to exchange ideas about innovations in education.

The WISE Prize for Education

The WISE Prize for Education was awarded for the first time in December 2010 for the year 2011 at the WISE Summit in Doha. He is the first international award in the field of Education and distinguished individuals and teams for outstanding educational services from. The prize is worth $ 500,000 and a gold medal.

Prize winners have been:

  • Fazle Hasan Abed in 2011, Bangladesh, for the establishment of the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee
  • Madhav Chavan 2012, India, co-founder and CEO of Pratham, an educational project in India
  • 2013 Vicky Colbert, founder of the Fundación Escuela Nueva in Colombia
