History

The World Youth Alliance (World Youth Alliance; WYA ) is an international, non-governmental, non-profit youth organization, which it aims to promote human dignity, both at the international level as well as at the base. Moreover, the World Youth Alliance is actively working on the solidarity between developed and developing countries. The World Youth Alliance was founded during the United Nations Conference on Population and Development 5 ( World Population Conference of the United Nations ) 1999. This was done as a deliberate response to the contents of the conference, which was convened to address the needs of the world's population. However, basic needs such as clean water, sanitation, education, nutrition, medical care and work were not discussed.

Anna Halpine, then 21 years old, went with some young people the following morning in the meeting and distributed flyers, which clearly referred to the fact that the previously lecture youths could not be considered as representative of the entire world youth. Anna Halpine demanded that issues were brought to the table, which fundamental human rights and human needs represented. Your opinion has been very positively received by many delegations and Anna Halpine asked to take a permanent presence in the United Nations and work with young people from the countries of the delegations.

The need for a strong and thoughtful voice of youth in this area had become clear and the World Youth Alliance was founded.
