WorldSkills

WorldSkills is a benchmarking non-academic careers for participants up to 23 years. Until the early 1990s, the event was called International Competition. Unofficially, the names Skill Olympics or World Skills are common.

By 1971 the event took place every summer, since 1973, it takes place only once a year.

History

The focus was immediately after the Second World War, the idea of international understanding. Today, the idea of ​​the power transfer is dominant. For international comparison, there are nationwide preliminary decisions which participants are sent to the competitions. Organisers of this benchmarking were formerly rural youth for agricultural occupations or the respective Chamber of Crafts for commercial-technical professions. Today, the entire organization of the e WorldSkills Germany V. is performed.
