Wörpe

The Wörpe is a small tributary of the Wümme in the northern Lower Saxony.

The headwaters of the Wörpe is located about 10 kilometers southwest of Zevenbergen at Steinfeld. From there, the Wörpe about Wilstedt and Grasberg flows (up here, does the influence of the tide ) and finally joins up with Lilienthal in the Wümme. In the upper reaches of the creek flows in natural meanders. The lower reaches of the Wörpe was channeled in the past and regulated the water level exceeds Sohlabstürze. Originally was the Wörpe by Truper Blänken and led the Court Gehrden in the Wümme. Between 1826 and 1864 there was a first phase to improve the moor boat trip. The Fisheries and Conservation Club Lilienthal and environment eV represents the waters waiting for the Wörpe and currently operates (2013 ), the reintroduction of sea trout in the Wörpe.
