Wörthsee (municipality)

Worthsee is a municipality in the northern district of Starnberg, Upper Bavaria. It is located on the northeastern shore of the lake, about 15 kilometers northwest of the county town of Starnberg. In the north, the A 96 motorway runs through the municipality.

Community structure

Community members are Auing, Etterschlag, Schluifeld, Schluisee, stones am Wörthsee, Walchstadt and forest Brunn.

History

Worthsee belonged to the Counts of Toerring - Jettenbach. The closed Hofmark located in the Electorate of Bavaria Wörth ( in Worthsee ) was a part of the reign of Seefeld.

The church today Worthsee was on 1 January 1972 as part of the municipal reorganization in Bavaria in 1818 by merging the resulting communities stones am Wörthsee and Etterschlag.

In the early 1990s the series The Happy Family with Maria Schell and Siegfried Rauch was shot in Walchstadt.
