Wu Jingyu

Wu Jingyu (Chinese吴静 钰, Pinyin Wú Jingyu, born 1 February 1987 in Jiangxi ) is a Chinese Taekwondo. Her achievements are the world champion title in 2007 and winning the gold medal at the Summer Olympics 2008.

In the Asian Games 2006 in Doha, Wu Jingyu won the gold medal in the category up to 47 kg. A year later, at the Taekwondo World Cup 2007 in Beijing, she could win the world title in this weight class. Wu was appointed to the Chinese squad for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, which also took place in Beijing. She started in the Olympic taekwondo tournament in the weight category up to 49 kilograms. In the first round of Wu Jingyu defeated the Kenyan Mildred Alango 7-0. In the quarterfinals, she beat out Sweden's Hanna Zajc 8-1 by, in the semifinals against the Taiwanese Yang Shu -chun 4-1. In the final, Wu Jingyu defeated the Thai Buttree Puedong.

Wu won at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London again the gold medal, defeating it in the final Brigitte Yague.
