Wuda District

The municipality Wuda (乌达 区) is a district of the prefecture-level city of Wuhai in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It has an area of 220 km ² and has about 130,000 inhabitants.

2012, the fossils of 298 million years old forest were found in Wuda. As the continent Pangaea formed, which is about 20 square kilometers of forest disappeared under a huge layer of volcanic ash and is now exceptionally well preserved.
