Württemberg Ts 4

The locomotive of series 99.17, Ts 4 of the Royal Württemberg State Railways was purchased for use on the 15.11 km long stretch between the towns of Old riser and Nagold. The three tank locomotives had an outer frame and an engine of the type Klose. Axis number 1 and 4 were controlled by the third, laterally movable shaft by means of a lever system. The second axis was driven by the inner cylinder and had no wheel flanges. Overall the system was very reliable, but also very maintenance intensive.

The vehicles were 1891, 1892 and 1899, and later supplied all taken over by the Reichsbahn. There they received the numbers 99171-99 173 They wore the name Altensteig, Berneck and Ebhausen
