Geography

The village Wüstenjerichow is located about 19 ​​km southeast of Castle on the edge of the nature reserve Möckern - Magdeburgerforth.

History

Wüstenjerichow was first mentioned in documents as Gargowe in 1285. The term Wüstenjerichow came into use since 1459.

Until December 31, 2009 Wüstenjerichow was the smallest independent municipality in the district Jerichower country with the associated district Waldrogäsen. January 1, 2010 Wüstenjerichow was incorporated into the city Möckern.
