Wysoka

Wysoka [ vɨsɔka ] ( German Wissek, Weisseck 1942-45 ) is a town with 2,700 inhabitants in Poland. It is located 25 kilometers east of Pila on the Krajna and belongs to the powiat Pilski, Wielkopolska on.

History

The first mention of the city dates from 1260th In 1505 Wissek received city rights, which was renewed in 1722 after a great fire. 1772 Wissek to Prussia and remained there, with a break in the years 1807-1815, when the city of the Duchy of Warsaw was slammed until she came to the Treaty of Versailles to the Second Polish Republic in 1920.

From 1818 she served on the Prussian circle Wirsitz and was part of the 1920-1939 Polish powiat Wyrzysk which again became the county Wirsitz in World War II. Since 1945 Wysoka again part of Poland.

Wysoka maintains since 2002 a partnership with the German community Jesberg in the Schwalm-Eder- Kreis.
