Xenia Stad-de Jong

Xenia Stad -de Jong ( born March 4, 1922 in Semarang, Dutch East Indies, † April 3, 2012 in Zoetermeer ) was a Dutch athlete.

Career

They celebrated their biggest success in 1948 at the Summer Olympic Games in London. Together with Nettie Witziers -Timmer, Gerda van der Kade Koudijs and the flying housewife Fanny Blankers - Koen was Olympic champion in the 4 x 100 - meter relay race. It also participated in the 100 meters at the individual races. There she was eliminated in the semifinals.

Two years after her Olympic victory, she was at the European Championships in Brussels in 1950 as a member of the Dutch 4 x 100 - meter relay team vice European champion.
