Yad Kennedy

Yad Kennedy ( heb.: יד קנדי ​​, German: Kennedy Memorial ), located in Mateh Yehuda Regional Council near Jerusalem, Israel. It is a monument to John F. Kennedy, the President of the United States, the 1963 one was assassinated.

The monument is about 18 meters high and painted in the form of a sawed-off tree stump, which symbolized the sudden end of his life. In the monument is a bust of John F. Kennedy with an eternal flame in the middle. The flame is surrounded by 51 columns, the emblems of the States of the United States wear (50 states and the District of Columbia). The construction of the monument in 1966 financed by funds from the Jewish National Fund of America from the U.S.. It was designed by the building of the Israeli architect David Resnick.

The memorial is located about 11 miles from Jerusalem, and lies in the direction of the Hadassah Medical Center. It is accessible from the villages of Ora and Aminadav. The Monument and the associated picnic grounds are part of the John F. Kennedy Peace Forest.
