YahSat 1A

YahSat 1A is the name of a communication satellite. Is operated by the Al Yah Satellite Communications Company ( Yahsat ) based in Abu Dhabi. The overall system consists of two satellites: YahSat 1A and 1B YahSat.

Mission

YahSat 1A was launched on April 22, 2011 21:37 UTC clock by an Ariane 5 ECA from the Guiana Space Centre together with New Dawn. YahSat 1B was followed on April 23, 2012 aboard a Proton-M. YahSat 1A was positioned at 52.5 ° Ost052.5 in a geostationary orbit above the equator and from there to supply the Middle East and North Africa with communication services.
